Electronic Arts brought Titanfall 2 to E3 2016. Vince Zampella, CEO at Respawn Entertainment, was part of the conference to reveal more details about the sequel of the pilot and titan first-person shooter.
Titanfall 2 “builds on the signature pilot and titan gameplay, to deliver a more robust experience” bringing the “depth and variety our fans have been asking for.”
First thing you can see from the official multiplayer gameplay trailer, above, it’s the new abilities that titans possesses.
You can count with 6 new titans, each of them with unique combat abilities, more customization options, expanded pilot gameplay, a deep progression system and “super smooth gameplay that we’ve always delivered.”
Only 3 of them have been revealed, as you can see above. Ronin, the titan on the left, is a “hit and run specialist” that wields a sword and a Leadwall shotgun.
Ion, the titan on the right, is “all about power”, making use of its Splitter rifle and laser core to deal tons of damage or absorve incoming fire.
Scorch is the big guy in the middle, and, as the name says, he deals with fire while shooting its T-203 Thermite launcher.
You can also choose from 6 different tacticals, pilots’ special abilities that will dictate your visual identity. Grapple, Pulse Blade and Holo Pilot are the first 3 to be revealed.
After that, Zampella confirmed the leak of a “full offline-playable” single player campaign, “crafted to dive deeper into the Titanfall universe.”
In the official single player gameplay trailer, above, we can gather that a titan loses his pilot during combat, and due to sudden circumstances the titan links with you, without authorization. The titan seems to have an Artificial Intelligence that obeys human orders.
Of course, Titanfall 2 has a lot of purchasable editions to choose, from the standard edition to the Series 2 collector’s edition.
